Networking / Sharing / Joining with other Santas

Networking is FUN!

Sharing the experiences of being Santa is FUN!

Joining together with other Santas and Mrs. Claus is FUN!

It has been over a week since the close of what I feel is the second 'real' convention for Santas and friends of Santa. By real, I mean a large gathering of 'hundreds' of Santas, meeting, sharing, networking, and learning about our industry.

One of the key aspects of major events such as Celebrate Santa and Discover Santa was their ability to bring hundreds of like minded individuals together. And in doing so, build special bonds and friendships that will last forever.

Although there had been other Santa events in the last eighty years, Discover Santa was the first true convention with almost 600 attending. Although organized for an association of 'real bearded' Santas, it was opened for Santas of all styles to attend.

This year's Celebrate Santa took an even larger step and brought together Santas from every association and walk of life, and in doing so set a new standard for all conventions and events to follow.

What is truly special about these gatherings is that they have helped to foster new levels of networking and socializing for Santas, Mrs. Claus and everyone associated with this industry.

Since the Spring of 2007 our industry has changed significantly, At that time there were only a handful of known, organizes Santa groups or groups. Yes they could be counted on one hand.

But today Santas have many choices to network, with over fifty groups around the continent and a few in other countries. And these many groups are now the key to Santas everywhere having a place to call home, and a place to really get active, if they so wish, with their fellow Santas.

I encourage every Santa to find a group to network and share with. Whether it is to just have a a few contacts to talk with on the web, or a few to do business with or some fellow Santas and wives to create a social life with, these groups have become a wonderful way to share.

By taking on the mantle of Santa, or Mrs. Claus or any persona or character, we have basically taken on a special responsibility to uphold that image for those outside our industry or world. Often, we cannot always discuss or ideas, needs or problems with others, as they unfortunately, do not understand everything we do and the responsibilities that go with our work.

And that is true, whether you are a volunteer and charitable Santa or one who does this for a living. Through the advent of groups, clubs, associations and networks, we now can share so much.

So not matter who you are or what level of participation you want to have, there is something out there for you. No one has to be alone, and everyone can be involved as little, or as much, as they so wish.

I have created a list of over thirty , groups and association that any Santas can contact. You can find them at www.thekringlegroup.com/santanetworks.htm

If you have a group that is not listed and would like to be added, please contact me.

If you cannot find a group in your area, I have a mailing list of over 1600 Santas and would be glad to help you either find someone in your region or assist you in trying to set up your own local group.

God Bless you and remember to keep the spirit of Christmas every day!
